Are you relatively new to the realm of the supernatural? Have you ever been to a church that teaches on the unseen spiritual realm? If you have a background in the western educational system or in western churches, you probably have a giant zero in all this. And that is exactly how I lived for most of my life.
I was programmed from birth by this sort of mindset that believes anything you can’t see with your eyes or measure with a scientific instrument, doesn’t exist. Intriguingly, I recently watched a movie where almost the exact same process I had to go through myself was perfectly illustrated. If you’re a fan of the Marvel Avengers movies, keep reading…
As I’ve mentioned here all over my website, I spent four decades in churches that believed in basically nothing. I was taught zero about the supernatural in the one place (the church) where I should have learned the most. In the last seven years, however, I’ve been in a steep learning curve of reversing all that and reprogramming my mind to understand how this unseen realm that God created actually exists and we are supposed to interact with it!
Natural Man vs Spiritual Man
Let me start off with the basics. God is very clear that there are two realms and this is all over the Bible. If you don’t believe in what you cannot see, you really have no belief at all in the Bible. To be unaware of the spiritual realm is to be spiritually blind.
When you have no recognition or understanding of the spiritual or supernatural realm, all you’re left with is the physical realm that you can see with your eyes and touch with your hands. This is the natural realm. To only have understanding of the natural realm makes you a person of the flesh not of the spirit.
Most westerners have the attitude that anything that’s not “intellectual” is foolishness. They don’t believe in anything I write here on this website. It’s pure nonsense to them. And that includes about 99% of all churches as well, including Pentecostal churches!!
There’s really very simple test to determine which one you are. If you are of the spirit then you understand spiritual and supernatural things; if not, then you are a person of the flesh. It can’t be any more simple than that. If spiritual and supernatural things are foolishness to you then you are what the below verse calls you.
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV)
If you are a westerner, then you probably have a logical thinking mind. This logical and analytical thinking can be a barrier to understanding the supernatural realm but it can also be used to prove exactly what I’m saying here. Go back and see what I just wrote – everything I described above is pure logic. If A=B and B=C, then also A=C. You really can’t argue with any of this and hopefully by now, you see which one of these categories you fall into. I had to figure this out myself and when I did, my entire life changed in a very good direction.
The western intellectualized mindset basically has you painted into a corner that you can’t get out from. We all know that this life is temporary and when you leave you’re going to be forced into the spirit realm and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. Do you really think it’s a good idea to live your entire life rejecting all this when you ultimately will be forced to confront it?! And for church people to live like this is beyond astonishing. You of all people are the ones who are supposed to be bringing this knowledge to the world!! For you to leave this to the counterfeit false religions and new age is a judgment against you.
Ok, so I had to get that out. Spending four decades of my life in spiritual blindness, and then coming out of that has been experience I cannot describe in any less of a forceful manner (trust me, I’m putting it all very politely here). So let’s now get to a perfect illustration that surprised me in how some people in the secular world seemed to have an amazing and accurate grasp of what I’m saying!
Perfect Hollywood Illustration: Dr Strange
I’ve recently become interested in a series of movies that has shockingly more Biblical truth than the writers probably realized. I’m talking about the Marvel Cinematic Universe Avengers series. One of these movies from 2016, just happens to fit perfectly into my blog topic today: Doctor Strange.

For the sake of this article – if you haven’t seen Dr Strange, here’s a preview. Dr Stephen Strange (his real name in the movie) is an extremely talented surgeon who rejects anything that does not fit into his intellectual worldview – that includes specifically the supernatural realm. But his entire worldview changes when a serious accident leaves him disabled. In the process of seeking a medical cure, Dr Strange is forced to confront the reality of all that he does not believe in.
Our character finds himself traveling to a far eastern country where he undergoes an extremely intense process which ultimately leads him to acknowledging and understanding and becoming extremely skilled in the supernatural he once rejected. What was once a hindrance to him now becomes his ally as he discovers that he can adapt his intellectual abilities and apply them in this new realm. In the process, he becomes extremely powerful in his new gifts.
The way Doctor Strange is portrayed almost exactly fit my own personal process of learning. My western educational mindset that I’ve mentioned above put me at great odds with even the simplest of faith in what I could not see. Just as in the movie, I myself had many mind wars and mental blockages that hindered me at every step of the way. I could barely understand speaking in tongues, healing miracles, words of knowledge, the gift of prophecy and just about everything else. Just getting the baptism of the Holy Spirit required me to drive nearly 12 hours to a Pentecostal conference where I determined not to leave until I got what I was after – and I did!
My entire process of leaving western intellectualized spiritual blindness and coming into the knowledge of the supernatural realm as seen in the Bible was nothing short of an all out mind war for me.
If you find yourself in the category of those who have a difficult time comprehending the supernatural realm, this blog here is going to help you get past your own intellectual barriers.
The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
Proverbs 18:15 (NKJV)
Key Barrier: Pride
Let me now give you some thoughts, tips and ideas that will help you do what I and Dr Strange both did. Just as in the movie, the first thing you’re going to have to deal with is your level of pride / arrogance. Dr Strange was perfectly portrayed as a man of excellent academic achievements that went to his head, leading him to become extremely arrogant. If you really look at the root of his problem – his refusing to believe in anything he did not already know was pure arrogance. The Bible calls this a sin known as PRIDE.
Pride is the root of all sin and evil and also keeps us from accepting anything new that goes against what we have chosen to believe. Rejecting anything new to you is what this verse below says:
He who answers a matter before he hears it, It is folly and shame to him.
Proverbs 18:13 (NKJV)
Intriguingly, there is a quote you can search out online that matches this verse above. Here is it…
There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all argument, and which cannot fail to keep man in everlasting ignorance. That principle is condemnation before investigation.
—Edmund Spencer
Intellectualism also has its roots in wanting to control everything and to be right all the time. This is what gets both intellectuals and religious people. In the realm of God, you cannot have these “know it all” attitudes. You must give up your right to know everything. Again, this is a manifestation of pride.
Recognize and admit the fact that none of us knows everything and at any moment, almost everything we think we know is subject to complete reversal or upgrading. If you are into the science of quantum mechanics, you should already know that what I’m saying is true. Things that were once not understood and not believed in have since been proven true.
Simple Faith – Be As a Child
If you want to use the scientific process and be intellectually honest with yourself, you have to approach everything from the perspective that the outcome of your study may lead to a complete reversal of what you previously held and believed in. In other words, if you’re a scientist, everything I’m saying here should already makes sense to you.
When you see children, they are always asking questions. Almost never do you see a child having the attitude that he or she knows everything. No! They have a wide-eyed perspective on the entire world, always wanting to know what it is they are seeing. It is only during the growing up years nearing adulthood that this pride and arrogance comes in and the once innocent child takes on an attitude that blocks them off from receiving anything new that God may be wanting to teach them. Stay childlike in your approach to learning – stop being judgmental.
But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
Luke 18:16 (NKJV)
Old or New Wineskin
There’s a Biblical principle with many applications, including what I’m saying here. In order to move into something new, you need to at times get rid of the old. Old mindsets, old ways of doing things, old routines and habits, etc. I’ve had to do this myself and it works. You cannot move forward with one foot stuck in the past. Both of your feet must move forward – do not be an old wineskin!
This applies in every area of our lives – in technology and in spiritual matters. We even know from Daniel that knowledge is increasing in our times right now and in all aspects of our lives, we should be in a constant state of expecting to learn something new!
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined.
Luke 5:37 (NKJV)
Dream Symbol Tip
Before we finish here – I need to include a dream symbol tip that I learned from David E. Taylor as it relates directly to our topic. When you see yourself floating in space, this means you are in the realm of un-limitations. Space is a place of no limits. You are not held down by gravity and you can freely move. Space is also representative of Heaven. The meaning of this can apply to our topic of being unlimited in your ability to grasp spiritual realm things which defy the intellectual limitations of our minds.
Ok, so my image at the top of this article makes sense now, right? Great! Thank you for reading this blog and taking my advice, along with that of the Marvel movie. Now you can approach the supernatural realm that exists today just as in the Bible with a humble attitude and open mind. You might now be very surprised with what you find out. I have!

Hi, thanks for sharing your story, I’m wondering, were you into the Marvel films before your experience or has that happened later? God spoke to me once through The Flash – about how we were made to go fast – and the next day I came across the bible verse where Elijah ran fast and overtook a chariot. I love watching films like that and God uses them all the time to speak to me. However some of my family won’t watch that type of thing (or sci-fi) because they say it’s not ‘realistic’. Were you in that place once?

Hi Jenny – great question! It was only about 3 years ago that I started watching Marvel & DC Comics movies actively. Before that, I was a “religious robot” and I thought it was all nonsense (Yikes!!) But it all changed after Wonder Woman 2017 and then I watched Marvel Avengers around that time and that’s when God showed me a massive clue to my energy tech invention dreams right there with Tony Stark. For real… I totally ignored most of the last 10 years of those movies cuz of my narrow minded attitude. But… ~3 years ago began my process of waking up to the reality of these movies. One of my African friends tuned me into Doctor Strange also around that time and I began realizing how much I have in common with that guy. So in the last 3 years my process of understanding what’s really in these movies has exploded. When my new marvels ebook is finally ready (a few more edits…) I’m going to tell a ton of what God has been showing me since the last 3-4 years and how shocked I was when I began discovering what those dreams were really about. Many of the abilities in these MCU characters are in my dreams, plus the revelation God gave me how to bring that out of the dream realm and into reality (it requires an active diligent effort). So – yes – I was for way too long in the place you say about family members.
