Finding The Meaning Of A Dream In A Bible Passage – Personal Confirmation & Answer

If you’re new to my blog, it would help if I say up front that I believe exclusively in Bible-based dream interpreting. As I wrote in my first free ebook, “Why Are Dreams So Hard To Understand?!”, you can often find part of the meaning of your dreams in Bible passages by doing key word searches. Well, just this week a situation came up where I and a couple friends needed an immediate answer and assurance regarding a situation that looked very negative.

This will make a great story for a later time but for now, I’ll just say we all ended up in circumstances that required a Red Sea type miracle and we had become increasingly doubtful about any possible positive outcome. So, in the midst of all this, I had a vision that gave me the answer I needed.

That vision that I’m going to describe here, turned out to be one of the most perfect illustrations for how you can sometimes find the meaning of your dream by knowing how to find it in the Bible. Once you see this, I believe it will help you in your own search to find the meaning of your dreams at night.

Dreams Vs Visions

I suppose I should start this off by clarifying that this was in fact a vision in my head (not a dream) while I was not fully asleep in the morning, around 6:00 am. From my experience, visions of this type can be very similar to dreams and can be interpreted using the same principles as I explain in all my other blogs.

I don’t want to get into an exhaustive explanation about dreams versus visions but based on my short description above, the basic idea is that a dream is while you are completely asleep but a vision is while you are either half-awake, or fully awake at any time of day or night. Myself personally, I do get these kinds of visions occasionally, but much less often than actual dreams.

Many times the visions I’ve had were very accurate in connecting to real life situations. At other times, they have not been so easy to connect with anything. Discerning a vision does require some work, especially because you have to get to the point where you are able to differentiate between your imagination and an image that God gave you with a specific message.

This is why, from my experience, visions may require some testing in order to determine their validity. If you’re new to what I’m saying here, my personal advice is to make a note of any visions you might get but then go through a process of putting them to the test until you’re confident in knowing which came from God and which came from your own head. That’s the short version.

Having said that, below is my example of a vision that was very reliable and had a directly relevant message to me on a rather critical personal matter. I won’t get into the details but like I briefly said above, God put me and a couple friends in very awkward and counter-intuitive situations that defied all common sense.

The situations had all become increasingly worse by all natural observation and we began to question whether we even heard God correctly from the beginning. Believe me, this is going to be a good topic for a later blog. What we all ended up in was not a very pretty sight.

So with that as the setup, here’s the vision I had and the explanation of how I found the meaning…

Vision & Interpretation

January 2020 – I see an image of my iPhone with the music app opened with dark screen mode and I’m seeing songs from an album listed. The songs on the top and bottom of the list were in normal white lettering, but the middle songs were greyed out (darkened) and not easy to see. End.

Here’s an edited screenshot of almost exactly what I saw so you can get a really good idea what my vision looked like. You can see how the top and bottom was emphasized, but the middle was greyed out in order to give a hint that there was something I should be looking for but only on top and bottom of some unknown real life object (or whatever). Pretty vague right?

Yep, if you had a vision like this, would you be tempted to just throw it out? If so, that’s what I was wondering myself. Just this very short still image snapshot by itself would be extremely hard to get any coherent message from. But… here’s what happened next – this will show how the Holy Spirit was helping me outside of this vision to know what He was trying to get me to understand.

Right after this vision, a thought came to me to look up the passage in the Psalms that spoke about waiting on God and trusting Him and not being ashamed. I believe I plugged in “ashamed, trust” in a word search on a Bible app and I found the exact thing I was looking for. At first, I did not have any reason to connect this thought to my vision.

When I did my search, I immediately found what I was looking for. The amazing thing was that the exact key words I was looking for appeared at the beginning and ending of one specific psalm. If you look at the entire Psalm 25, you’ll notice that it has verses in the beginning and end that speak about not being ashamed for waiting on and trusting in God. And intriguingly, the middle of that Psalm does not speak about that thought directly.

Something to know about Psalms – they are all songs. So if you take my vision above and match it to the layout of Psalm 25 (as a song), you get the idea how the verses on top and bottom fit the image by emphasizing what is on top and bottom but omitting the middle passages.

Here are the verses I found that matched my key word search…

O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.

Psalms 25:2-3 (NKJV)

Keep my soul, and deliver me; Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.

Psalms 25:20 (NKJV)

Do you see it? Psalm 25 has 22 total verses and these key words were only found as I say, at the beginning and end of that entire Psalm. This was amazing to me because I realized that God was saying in a rather subtle way that my very negative-looking situation was not going to end in a disaster. God was answering me directly about that very huge concern by this very simple vision that lasted only a matter of seconds.

So the main idea here is that, if you have a decent understanding of the Bible, or at the very least, you make a habit of doing key word searches like I did, you will often find answers to your dreams by finding a Biblical passage that contains the primary message God is trying to communicate to you. This is also a sure way to know the difference between correct dream interpreting using Biblical principles, from counterfeit methods that use everything except the Bible.

Dream Interpretation Key: Meekness

I need to go back now to something I just wrote above because I’ve occasionally struggled with this in the last several years in discerning the true meaning of a dream. Take a step back now and consider that the manner and style of God’s answer in this vision directly collides with the extreme nature of the situation because the biggest problem I was having was anxiety over the outcome of a potentially huge mess. And the subtle nature of how God gave this answer is noteworthy.

Here’s the really important point we all must keep in mind…

In order to correctly understand God’s communication with us in dreams, we must understand His character. Let me admit here that I am NOT claiming to have become anywhere near an expert in this myself. Nope! I’ve come a long way in the last few years but I am by no means a world expert on knowing God nearly as well as I want to.

What we often miss is that a major character trait of God is meekness. This means He can be very subtle in the way He speaks to us. But… because of how we humans tend to be more filled with the opposite of these divine traits, we are very prone to overlooking what He is really saying because God is most often just “too quiet” for us.

But, the more we learn about God and His nature, the better we will be able to pick up accurately on what He is really saying to us. Remember the lesson with Elijah?

And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

1 Kings 19:12 (KJV)

So the whole problem I had was that my situation was causing an extreme level of anxiety and it was becoming increasingly impossible to understand what God had to say about it. Even all my previous dreams that I thought I understood were now going around endlessly in my head, and I was completely in doubt if I really understood them correctly many months ago.

Here’s another really important Bible passage that fits exactly what I’m saying…the less anxiety we have, the greater our accuracy in hearing God correctly.

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Psalms 119:165 (KJV)

So… on that note (no pun intended), this leads to the next key that I beileve you’re going to benefit from. What I’m describing next is something else I did during the time I had my vision.

Music With A Supernatural Element

In the midst of the apparent looming personal disaster, I felt the need to turn to a type of music that I’ve become acquainted with only in the last few years. If you’re not familiar with “soaking music”, I first heard about this by watching a Sid Roth program with this exact artist below (Julie True). Believe me, this sort of thing was not on my top 10 list of favorite musical genres in years past, but I’ve since come to understand the value and purpose of it and even to like it.

If you take my suggestion and start listening to this type of music, you will eventually see that it really does have a supernatural element to it. In fact, before I had that vision above, I had been playing this exact album in the video playlist below most of the night as I kept waking up.

If this is new to you, you might find it very vaguely similar to a style of music that exists in counterfeit new age circles. Let me say very emphatically that this is nothing like that!! This music below is written and recorded by a “Spirit-filled” Christian who has learned how to tap into sounds that bring the atmosphere of Heaven right down to you. Like I say, try it and you’ll see what I mean.

Well, that’s it for today. I hope this helped you out in understanding some basics on visions versus dreams and in knowing how to find answers to them in the Bible. And, hopefully, you’ll check out what may be an new style of music that will help with everything I’ve explained in this blog. And yes, I’ll tell the rest of the story with its outcome in an upcoming video or blog hopefully soon.
