Are You Stuck? 3 Principles I’ve Used That Get Fast Results

Today I’m going to answer a question some of you have raised by email. I was recently asked how to break a barrier in understanding dreams. The question came from someone who had read many books and taken courses but was perhaps not much better off than at the beginning. My answer to the question is in the form of today’s blog but in a slightly modified version.

From my experience, what I’m telling today will not only help you get past a roadblock in understanding dreams, it will also help in any area where you are feeling hindered in any other supernatural pursuit. In the midst of my explanation of these 3 principles I’ve used, you will start to see a familiar theme emerging among them.

Academics Are Required But…

There’s no question that academic studying is a must in any area of life and that includes the things I write about throughout this website. God requires us to study in order to be approved for any promotion He may want to give us. I’ve recently had dreams showing me the need to begin a new study assignment and one even showed the spiritual rank God will promote me to once I complete it.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

However, there are times when academic study is NOT going to give you what you need. In the case of some of my readers (and myself at times), there are certain spiritual disciplines you must put into practice in order to go beyond what mere book learning can provide you. I’m going to start by giving you two of those up front and then I’ll discuss a third at the bottom.

You Must Do Something Different & Even Extreme

When you are at a roadblock, it usually means that what you are doing is no longer producing fruit and that something different must be done to break the barrier. This is the same concept as doing the same exercise routines for a long period but after a while, you notice a lack of results (or you get bored). Dead ends are usually a sign that God is leading you to move up to a higher level and do something more “extreme” than you have in the past.

There are two things I’ve done to varying extents in the past but much more now in recent weeks. Those are fasting and early morning (3-6 AM) prayer. Fasting clears away the things of the flesh that get in the way and allows us to hear God more accurately. Early morning prayer (3-6 AM specifically) is a time when we can get answers that will never come to us at any other time of the day. Here’s how I recently put both of these into practice…

Just this week, I felt the need to begin a very strict routine of observing the 3-6 AM (4th watch) prayer time. But… I had a very big problem. I often naturally wake up way too early (around 1:00 AM) and it can take a long time before I fall asleep again. In order for me to hit those 4th watch hours exactly, I knew I had no choice but to force myself to stay up the entire night.

Rough Start, But It Worked!

So, that’s what I did – I set my alarm for 3:00 AM just in case I might fall back asleep and miss the 3-6 AM time. And, sure enough, I woke up right around 1:00 AM (arg!!!). That left me no choice but to stay up the entire night until 6:00. Once I fulfilled that entire 4th watch time, I went back to sleep for a couple hours. I did this 3 nights in a row and it wore me out.

On the 4th night, it became obvious that I had to make up for lost sleep so I did not get up early. Instead, I used that as a recuperation period so I could go back to the same routine shortly afterwards. You may need to do the same in order to get your breakthrough. Sometimes you must continue in a routine of early morning prayer until you sense that you’ve accomplished what was necessary at that time.

In addition, I started a similar routine with fasting (but not at same time as the above) where I first fasted 3 days straight, then returned to normal eating for 2-3 days, and then I did 2 more days of fasting. Because of all that, I got some amazing and immediate results. I began getting a whole new series of dreams, plus I could easily sense several new things took place in the spiritual realm.

Now is a good time to clarify what I mean by “results”. Results can come in many varieties including…

  • Dreams confirming supernatural changes have taken place or a process has begun which will lead to full manifestation.
  • Dreams or real life answers to your requests / things you need.
  • Physical / material things show up which you may have asked for (now or at some time).

Practical Stuff… How Do You “Get In The Spirit”?!

If you’re new to the idea of early morning prayer, you might be asking – what do you do during those early morning hours?! Great question! First, you must be led by the Holy Spirit because otherwise, everything else you do is just a dead religious exercise. From my experience, getting “in the spirit” often starts with music.

The right kind of music is very important and that is what we see in Psalms. It is also how the early apostles were broken out of prison. It is very hard to come into God’s presence without getting in the right mindset or spirit. I’m not trying to make a formula out of this. This isn’t like a math equation, but if you do what I’m saying, you will see that it works.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Psalms 95:2 (KJV)

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

Acts 16:25-26 (KJV)

If you’re stuck and not seeing results, it may be that a big part of the problem is because you’re not approaching this the right way. Whenever you attempt anything supernatural without first being “in the spirit”, nothing will happen because you are still in the mind of the flesh.

In my case with the 3-6 AM prayer time – I did not have anything specific I felt the need to pray about so I just kept music on all night and if anything came to mind during that time, I made a mental note of it. The first night my mind was all over the place and distracted so that night was like clearing an area to build a new house. Once you clear all the clutter, then you can dig a foundation and build on it.

After 2 more nights of forcing myself into the early morning routine, my mind was getting into the right place spiritually and I no longer had to fight as much to get there. It also became easier to be up during those hours – just like when I worked night shifts in the Air Force, or when traveling to a different time zone – you will slowly adjust.

Traveling By Wings Versus On The Ground

So back to my point… if all you do is play music and sing the whole night, that’s fine. Eventually you will sense what to pray about. As you become more spiritually sensitive, you will start getting thoughts from the Holy Spirit with answers to what you are seeking (like words of knowledge or wisdom) that just pop up and you will know they did not come from you.

This early morning prayer time is what accelerates you because it is God’s appointed time. Any other time of the day is what is convenient to us and it is our time. God responds when we make the sacrifice to get up at His time and meet with Him (for as many days as we need to). Here are a couple verses on which the early morning (3-6 AM) time is based but there are others as well…

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Psalms 139:9 (KJV)

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Proverbs 8:17 (KJV)

Consistently practicing this early morning prayer time is the biggest key to catching up on anything in your life where are you are late or delayed. It will open doors previously closed, and give you favor with those who have what you need. By making your requests to God at daybreak (at the end of these hours), God will answer you infinitely faster than any other time of the day.

The benefits of practicing early morning 4th watch prayer are many and astounding. Just my own recent commitment to this now has proven it to be absolutely miraculous. Soon enough, I’ll have more to say and will tell all that happens as I continue this practice.

Recommended! For a very comprehensive teaching on early morning prayer, this is THE book that God used to motivate me in my recent all-night prayer sessions. In this book, you will find out what it means to take wings by air (FAST) versus traveling by ground (slow)… Wings of the Morning: 4th Watch Prayer.

How God Gave Me The Initial Ability To Understand Dreams

The 3rd suggestion is what I already mentioned in my previous blog and it’s something that I know for a fact got me started 10 years ago. I initially got my ability to understand dreams from Perry Stone but there was one specific thing I did in order for God to give it to me. Here’s the short version…

In 2012, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at one of Perry Stone’s prophetic conferences in Cleveland, Tennessee. As soon as I received the baptism, I knew immediately I needed to give a large donation (no one told me to, I just knew to do it). I gave him $1,200 without hesitation and it was the first time I ever gave that much in a one-time donation. I later realized that is what God used to unlock my ability to dissect and understand dreams with the same style Perry Stone uses – just like Joseph in the Bible.

I know for a fact, if I had not done that, I would never be where I am now. That was the starting point and many things developed after I made that large sacrificial donation. I progressed very rapidly from that point on. In fact, the speed of my transformation was shocking because I had never before experienced anything like that in my life.

Sacrifice Is Mandatory – Shortcuts Never Work

I’m telling you what has worked for me according to Biblical principles. I’ve seen people try to take short cuts and do less than I’ve referenced above. As a result, they take a very, very long time and subsequently make little to no progress. I’ve learned from my experience that there are things we must do to show God we are serious.

If we genuinely want breakthrough in our lives, we must ask ourselves the question – what are we willing to sacrifice (and even suffer) so we may attain all that God has for us?  Sometimes, the very places where we stop reveal our lack of commitment and show that we are not truly serious.  Remember, God sees the heart and He knows when we are merely giving lip service.

This is not about our convenience – this is about following Biblical principles that cut against us and force us to put to death the flesh and the carnal nature especially with money. I strongly recommend reading my new Marvel Dream Revelations ebook because there are things I said in there that will be a very big shock to most people to know what God has required me to give up for the last several years.

Results Are Still Showing Up!

The question is… how serious are you? Do you really want what God has or will your flesh stop you? This is where the truth comes out. What I went through last year was absolutely horrible but it led to the biggest breakthrough which my dreams proved. It was as if I accomplished something no one else on earth ever had before (based on how I was before that).

These are my top 3 suggestions if you are stuck and nothing else you’ve tried has worked. I know these produce fast and obvious results because I’ve done them all and I have the proof. Do according to the example I’ve described today and you will likewise get very similar results.

Remember that Hebrews 11:6 says God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him,  So, whatever price you must pay… it WILL  be worth it!!
