Have you ever heard the teaching about not engaging in “second heaven warfare”? Have you been told that we are powerless against high-level principalities? But have you also read that the Bible speaks about our warfare being against principalities and rulers of darkness in heavenly places?

Have you ever asked the question – how can it be that we can’t war against principalities in the higher levels when we are also told simultaneously that we are in a war against them?

I learned long ago that there are no contradictions in the Bible – if you think there are, it reveals a lack of information on the topic in question. Finding the truth about such matters requires some digging but the answer is always very eye opening. That was the case for me when I learned what was missing on the topic of high-level spiritual warfare.

Today, I’m giving a few brief notes and then a link to a video that answered my question from several years ago. As I wrote earlier (see links below), I began to observe around 2010 the disturbing reality that with so many churches in the US, their effectiveness was basically zero on the national level. I began asking how there can be so many churches but the world just continues getting worse?! Something was clearly wrong but at the time, I found no one who had the answer.

Within the last couple years however, I began hearing teaching on the kingdom of God. To my surprise, I learned that this was for the most part, the only message Jesus taught. Only twice in all four gospels was “church” mentioned by Jesus, all the rest of His teaching was “kingdom“. He even gave a major end-times clue that most seem to have missed regarding what needs to happen before the end comes (Matthew 24:14).

If you have also asked the question about the lack of effectiveness of the church on a national scale and did not find anyone with a very good answer, you will want to watch the video below. This is not church-level teaching, this is kingdom-level. It should be as much an eye opener for you as it was for me.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Kingdom First, Not Church

As I wrote in my initial kingdom articles, it was quite a surprise for me to find out that our kingdom calling is first and our church calling is second (Revelation 1:6). Our kingdom position is higher than what exists in the church and these are two separate entities. We even have a clue here in what Paul wrote:

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
(1 Corinthians 12:28 KJV)

Once we understand the difference between kingdom and church, we then can start thinking on regional and national level issues. If this whole topic of kingdom is new to you, just remember that Jesus’ disciples were exposed to it three years in direct contact with Him and at first they didn’t seem to understand at all what He was saying.

The more you study kingdom, the more it will start to make sense, but it won’t happen overnight. For the sake of the topic of this article and video, we are dealing with kingdom-level spiritual warfare against regional principalities. If you’ve heard the teaching against engaging in “second heaven warfare“, this should answer the apparent contradiction that I posed at the beginning of this article.

If your understanding of second heaven warfare is based on your position in the church, then yes, that can’t be done. But if you understand how to engage in spiritual warfare from your position as a king, well…that is where all this takes on a whole different reality.

Strong Man Principle

For those who have studied deliverance on a personal level, it should come as no surprise that the same principles apply on the national level. When you see evil spreading to a city, state or nation, you have the evidence in the natural realm of the existence of a demonic principality that has taken over your area. Remember that wars are first won in the spirit realm, then afterwards in the natural.

Regional principalities must be cast out using the strong man principle that Jesus gave us. Every form of evil that has spread itself in your region is the manifestation of that principality. When you cast out the strong man, you have cut off its influence and stranglehold over your region.

This is exactly the same as we see Jesus doing with the man who had the legion of demons. It is also what we see with David when he killed Goliath (also a form of strong man). In these passages, when these devils were cast out, the man or region was set free.

No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
(Mark 3:27 KJV)

The key to eradicating any evil influence is to cast out the highest level demon which has been elevated to the position of spiritual leadership, sitting on a throne as a prince. But this is done from our position as a king, not from any position in the church.

We must be aggressive and defeat these demons, not run in fear and be dismayed as was Saul when Goliath came taunting the Israelites day after day. We must run into the battle as David did against the enemy that tried to intimidate the very army that had the God of the entire universe backing them! 

Boldness is a Biblical Mandate

And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

We read of all these battles in the Old Testament with David, Joshua and Gideon that serve as examples of how to operate boldly as kings and fight against demonic kingdoms. But for the most part, it seems churches have been doing what Saul did rather than what David did when it comes to confronting intimidation by evil.

If you want to see this kingdom warfare message put into action, I recommend following David E. Taylor who has been operating in this for several years with measurable results. Specific examples of the demonstration of these principles include:

• The annual Crusade Against Cancer where the strong man of the principality of cancer has been attacked.
• The human sex trafficking and drug rings where these rings have been broken up within days to weeks after a declaration is made against these principalities of slavery and drug addiction.

We are all commissioned to be kings in an army and to take down and destroy all works of the devil. This includes all forms of Biblically unlawful activity including ungodly behaviors, perversions, diseases, sex-trafficking, drug rings, gambling, false religions, political spirits, poverty and anything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:4-6).

But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

With that as my brief intro, let me now hand this discussion off to the man who I learned all this from. As you watch this teaching done in 2016, in Hagerstown, MD, use this article as a starting point for some of the key verses and principles and then add to it with your own notes. I recommend watching this several times to get this understanding to become a seed that bears fruit in your life. As David Taylor says, this world needs kings to rise up and go after all principalities.

Key Points

• Only a king goes to battle and kingdoms fight against kingdoms. This is not done by the office of the priest (church).
• The key is to use your position as a king, not a prophet, pastor or any other position in the church when making declarations.
• If you have a church with thousands but your city is overrun by evil laws and leaders, you have a demonic principality ruling your region.
• If your schools are teaching ungodly anti-Biblical ideologies, you have a demonic principality ruling your region.
• If you have sickness and disease rampant in your region or nation, you have a demonic principality on a throne ruling your area.
• If you have a stronghold of drug rings and sex trafficking in your city and region, you have a principality ruling there.
• If you have any of these above or others not listed, you must learn and activate kingdom warfare methods and principles and immediately cast out these strong men principality spirits and dethrone them!
