Some of my best blog posts are in the form of answers to those who email me and ask very good questions. That just happened again and I decided to give an altered version of my email reply to discuss a topic that is relevant to everyone. Since I am in the process of rewriting and expanding my 2019 ebook, “The Supernatural Science Of Reaching Your God-Given Purpose” and today’s topic is very relevant to it, a version of this blog will also be included in the updated ebook.

As you will find out when my ebook is updated, I chose its title for a very good reason. When you are in the process of searching for, and walking out, your God-intended calling and purpose, you must combine the natural and spiritual realms in such a way that it can actually be considered both a science and art. Today’s blog will address a few topics that come up when God gives you dreams with clues to your calling and purpose or the next assignment in the process of getting there.

Timing & Chronology Of Dreams & Prophecies

Most of the time, timing in dreams or prophecies is not so easy to sort out. As a personal example, I received my “Mega Prophecy” in July 2015 and, as of today, most of it has not fully happened. What has begun is all the dreams that go way back several years where God put me in a very steep and bizarre learning path that continues to this day. Plus, I have a global prophecy and those almost never get fulfilled overnight (especially when God throws you into a field you initially knew nothing about). 

There is also the matter of how God uses the same symbol repeatedly in dreams but for very different reasons. If you automatically assume that the same symbol means the same personal situation, you are going to end up in a huge mess.

Here is a recent example that shows how God sometimes speaks in such a way that looks like He is going forwards and backwards without any rhyme or reason. I have 2 recent dreams involving myself driving an “RV / motorhome”.  The first dream showed me sitting in the driver’s seat in a parking lot and the second showed me driving it. But, there’s a little possible confusion if you try to look at the sequence of the dreams in a literal chronology.

The first dream showed I had already started moving even though I was still sitting stopped in a parking lot. In the second, I was clearly in motion but, I was first outside the vehicle and needed keys to unlock the door before I was seen driving it. The 2 dreams could look like a contradiction, right?? How was I already in the driver’s seat (dream 1) but then I was not in it and still had yet to get into it again (dream 2)?? 

The answer is simple: each dream is related according to the repeat symbol of a RV / motorhome but, at the same time, they are each speaking of 2 very different personal situations. There comes a point where the exact details are not to be interpreted quite so literally (or linearly).  

Another generalized example is when you see yourself driving or riding in multiple types of vehicles over the course of many dreams. This does not mean the first dream was overridden by the next one. A dream of piloting an airplane is not negated by a subsequent one where you see yourself riding in the back of a train. Most of the time, this is God’s way of showing you completely different aspects of your life. In some cases, it can be His way of showing you the same situation but from a different angle in order to emphasize a specific part of your life.

Deliberately Mixed Up Timelines & References

I do not know the background, age or education or family type of those reading this blog so, I can only go off what is typical of my culture (white / caucasian westerners).  Those in my culture tend to have problems initially understanding the supernatural realm and God’s parabolic speech because He often jumbles things up and does not use linear illustrations. A perfect Biblical example is in Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 where God combines several “people” and situations all into one without telling you when He switches from one to the next. 

In those two passages I referenced above, there is a merging of the kings of Tyre / Babylon with Lucifer (satan) all into one chapter but you have no idea when He’s talking about one vs the other.  God also does this in the book of Revelation, which most people try to interpret in a literal / linear chronology from chapter 1 to 22 but, it does not always work out quite so well. Not to mention, that book plays out in so many ways on many levels; it is almost like a continuous repeat that keeps building up to a big finale.  

Learning A Strange New Language From 2-D to 4-D

What I’m saying is, when you are trying to understand how God speaks in dreams or prophecy, you have to learn an entirely new language which adds a level of complexity. This is not like learning English to Russian or German etc, because in addition to learning what symbols translate into, you now have the added dimension of time and multi layers of meaning. 

You are not learning in 2 dimensions – you are in 4-D. That is like trying to solve an equation for a graph using the X and Y axis which is pretty easy but now you jump straight past the Z axis (3-D) to the 4th (time) dimension and that is enough to cause anyone’s brain to blow a fuse and meltdown. Trust me… when I first started this, you do not want to go back in time to see what used to happen to me on a regular basis….

Have you ever watched Marvel’s Doctor Strange??  The process he went through in the first 30 minutes or so of that movie is exactly what I went through – including the meltdowns where I literally totally lost it and went on a tirade throwing things and screaming because my mind could not handle it.  My western-educated / programmed mind that did not understand anything beyond the 2D level could not handle this. 

There is a positive here for those who are stuck in the same place I was. Not to be too exact on the movie reference but, if you notice, the guy who was least likely to “get it” became the best of them all when he finally combined the intellect with the spiritual realms.  Ok, so I’m not a “sorcerer supreme” (haha) but I’m light years past where I was only 11 years ago and I do not (normally) have meltdowns anymore.  

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Personal Advice For Dreams Of New Seasons

If you have already had dreams of a new season beginning and you have no idea if it has already started, this is for you… At the time of your dream, there is a very high chance that your new season already began but, it started with a change in the invisible realm which ultimately goes from the spirit to the brain (the brain is last to catch on). God typically speaks way ahead of time by declaring the end state long before you see it in the observable / natural realm. 

Dreams like this often show a symbolic death of a person which means, the old life is ending and a new one is beginning. You experience both an ending and a beginning at the same time but, it takes place more like the change of a season where one morphs into the other over a period of time. These changes cannot exactly be marked off or counted on a calendar because a personal life season often can extend over several years.

Key Fact: very often, when you see the number 4 in a dream, it means new season, new direction, or new creativity that is coming to you (see Biblical symbol explanation here).

What If You Don’t Know What To Do?!

In order for a dream or prophecy to manifest in the natural realm, you must pray! Not only that but, get others to pray in agreement about this. Prayer and co-laboring with God is mandatory; if you do not take this active step, you cause your entire process to grind to a halt. This requires a combined effort: God + you + other mature believers, especially when it involves your calling or anything too complex for you to accomplish on your own.

When you have a dream that you do not understand and therefore, do not know what to do with, I have some advice you can use… Start by telling God that you want what He showed you even though you have no idea what that is. Agreement with God in dreams and prophecies is required – just because God shows you something does not mean it automatically happens! God requires agreement to make things happen by coming down from Heaven to earth.

In the dream I dealt with there, God used a series of numbers that required several years to partially understand. In fact, as of the time of this blog, it still has not happened in the natural realm but, I have seen that number 39 repeatedly and it absolutely has a very big financial miracle associated with it (just as the dream revealed).

One Last Tip For Today…

Dreams are very focused and partial. When you have a dream where you are with another person but they suddenly disappear, this is God’s way of focusing exclusively on you, not the other person. If you want to know what may happen with the other person, that will be revealed in a different dream (not necessarily yours). God is focusing exclusively on you at that stage – what happens after that is your process and your next steps; what God does with anyone else in your dream is a completely different subject.
